Social Security Disability/SSI
Social Security Disability and SSI are programs designed to provide monetary benefits and healthcare coverage for individuals who have a disabling condition and are no longer able to work. Please contact our office to see which program you may be eligible for and to get more information regarding these programs.
Children’s Disability Benefits
If a child is under 18 years of age and has impairments that limit his or her ability to function physically, mentally, or psychologically at an age appropriate level, the child may qualify for disability benefits. Contact our office to determine whether your child may be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits.
Our office represents families who are seeking guardianships for a loved one who is age 18 or older and who are unable to make decisions for their own safety, health, or well-being. This can be particularly important for children who are turning 18, but are unable to make decisions for themselves due to a disabling impairment. It is important to speak with someone who can advise you of your legal rights as a parent and whether a guardianship may be appropriate for your child.
Our office also represents children in child welfare cases through our Juvenile Court system. We ensure that children taken into DFCS custody due to abuse and neglect are given representation in Court. We represent the child in all aspects of the Juvenile Court case, including making sure the child receives all services needed for his or her health, safety, and well-being. We strive to achieve the best possible outcome for each child individually given their circumstances.
